A well established school at Airport Residential area seeks the services of a Finance Lead/Manager. The finance manager will report to School Principal / Directors and will supervise Accounts Coordinator , Accounts Assistants and related stuff. The role is a full time role. The Finance Lead/Manager is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring robust financial management, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the School. This role oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and resource management, while working closely with leadership to enable effective decision-making that enhances the school’s mission of providing world-class education.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the school’s mission, vision, and growth objectives.
- Advise the School Director and Board on financial planning, risks, and opportunities.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives, including expansion projects, fundraising, and capital investment.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the termly and annual budgeting process across all departments (nursery, primary, extracurriculars, and operations).
- Monitor performance against budget and prepare monthly variance analyses.
- Prepare financial forecasts (short- and long-term) to support planning and sustainability.
3. Financial Operations and Control
- Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, statutory taxes and cash flow management.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard school assets.
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of tuition, after-school clubs, uniforms, meals, and other revenue streams.
- Supervise the preparation of reconciliations, journals, ledgers, requisitions etc.
4. Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, termly, and annual).
- Ensure compliance with Ghanaian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting.
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to the School Director, management team, and Board of Directors.
5. Team Management and Development
- Supervise and mentor accounts staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Promote efficiency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
- Establish clear policies and procedures to streamline workflows.
6. Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, and administrators to manage budgets effectively.
- Communicate financial policies clearly to parents, ensuring transparency in tuition and fees.
- Support fundraising initiatives and donor relations with accurate financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and compliance.
- Proven ability to prepare and interpret financial data for non-financial stakeholders.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks), Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally within education, NGOs, or service-oriented organizations.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and team management.
- Familiarity with the Ghanaian financial and tax regulatory environment
