Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Lathe Machinist to operate and maintain lathe machines in our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both manual and CNC lathes, the ability to read technical blueprints, and a commitment to producing high-precision components.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual and/or CNC lathe machines to produce precision parts.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Select appropriate tools, materials, and cutting speeds for each job.
Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.
Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain production efficiency.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2–5 years of experience operating lathe machines in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Preferred:
Vocational training or certification in machining or a related field.
Experience with CNC programming (G-code, Fanuc, etc.) is a plus.
Knowledge of other machining operations (milling, drilling, grinding).
