Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic Hospitality Manager to manage the daily operations of the Surf House, create memorable experiences for visitors, and generate revenue to sustain our programs for local surfers. The ideal candidate is proactive, business-minded, and passionate about surf culture and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement & Operations
Welcome local surfers, travelers, creatives, and Busua community members to the Surf House.
Ensure the space is inviting, safe, and well-maintained.
Share the story of Surf House, encourage community involvement, and promote our clubs and activities.
Manage opening and closing procedures and coordinate housekeeping.
2. Private Events & Partnership Management
Promote and manage bookings for private events, including meetings, workshops, and celebrations.
Coordinate logistics for events, including setup, management, and clean-up.
Build and maintain relationships with event organizers and partners.
3. Sales & Revenue Generation
Prioritize finding new ways to monetize the space to support our programs for local surfers.
Promote and sell Surf House services, including:
Wi-Fi Access: Provide seamless connectivity for guests.
Merchandise Sales: Display and manage inventory of branded products.
Travel Experiences: Organize surf trips, guided tours, and cultural experiences around Busua.
Use of the Space: Develop creative ideas for space utilization, such as hosting events, workshops, or pop-up markets to generate income.
4. Administrative & Financial Management
Oversee budgeting, expenses, and revenue tracking.
Maintain records of sales, bookings, and event logistics.
Collaborate with vendors and manage supplier relationships.
Process payments, handle invoices, and ensure accurate financial documentation.
5. Marketing & Content Coordination
Collaborate with the Content Creator to document events and experiences.
Promote Surf House services and events through social media and partnerships.
Engage with the local community to create opportunities for collaboration.
Ideal Candidate for Hospitality Manager
We are looking for a Hospitality Manager who not only has strong operational and management skills but also shares our passion for sports and community development. The ideal candidate is proactive, business-minded, and genuinely enthusiastic about surf, skateboarding, and creating a positive impact through sports-driven initiatives.
Requirements
Experience in hospitality, event management, or tourism.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to engage and build relationships within the community, with a focus on local surfers.
Sales-driven mindset with the ability to generate revenue.
Proficiency in English and Fante.
Knowledge of surf culture is a plus not required) and community engagement is a plus.
