Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• HND or Technical Certificate (TVET) in Electrical field or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in similar position.
• Electrical background will be an advantage
• Knowledge of all tools and materials relevant to the electrical trade.
• Knowledge of quality standards and procedures and HSE policies.
• Familiar with wiring all types of circuits – ring mains, radials etc.
• Experience in termination and fixing of light fittings, switches, sockets, lights etc.
• Knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures and safety protocols.
• Able to read electrical drawings - shop drawings, wiring diagrams etc.

Description
Our client, an electrical and mechanical contracting company has immediate employment for an experienced and talented ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN to help with their operations.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, repairing, installing, and modifying electrical components and systems.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for wiring all types of circuits – ring mains, radials etc.
- Termination and fixing of light fittings, switches, sockets, lights, etc.
- Carry out cabling and connection of distribution boards.
- Conduct basic test labeling of circuits, fixtures and fittings.
- Carry out emergency lighting wiring.
- Supervise and train small teams of junior electricians.
- Interpret electrical drawings - shop drawings, wiring diagrams etc. and set out systems.
- Monitor safety on site, report hazards and give direction to junior electricians.
- Ensure work safety to protect yourself and others from harm.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including wearing of personal protective equipment, obeying the safety signs and other related policies.
- Ensure strict use of electrical devices provided by the organization that is used to keep the workplace safe and healthy and prevent tampering or misuse of equipment.
- Report all identified defects and potential hazards in the workplace.
- Inform your Supervisor/HSE Representatives/HSE Officer or QHSE Manager about any workplace injury, illnesses, incidents (near misses and accidents).
- Be familiar with the emergency and evacuation procedures and the location of the emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kit, etc.) in order to be able to protect themselves in the event of emergency
