• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. • Professional certification  In-depth knowledge of construction measurement methods, volume estimation techniques, and cost control strategies.  Proficiency in interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for cost optimization.  Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.  Ability to work independently, manage teams, and meet strict deadlines.  Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software.  High level of accuracy and attention to detail.  Strong understanding of industry regulations, contracts, and procurement procedures.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Quantity Surveyor will oversee cost estimation, contract administration, and measurement of concrete volumes to optimize project efficiency and profitability.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Site Measurements and Quality Assurance:

• Conduct and validate detailed site measurements to ensure compliance with project specifications.

• Supervise and provide guidance to junior staff on measurement techniques and volume assessments.


• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices in measurement accuracy.

Client and Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Serve as the key liaison between clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to confirm concrete requirements.


• Attend project and site meetings to align expectations and address measurement-related discrepancies.

Onsite Supervision and Compliance:

• Oversee the on-site placement of concrete to verify compliance with approved volumes and quality standards.


• Monitor project execution to identify and address cost variations or material wastage.


• Provide technical support on-site to resolve volume estimation and measurement challenges.

Leadership and Team Development:

• Mentor and supervise Quantity Surveyors and Junior Quantity Surveyors, fostering professional growth.


• Conduct training sessions on advanced quantity surveying techniques and industry best practices.


• Ensure effective teamwork and collaboration across project teams.

Other Duties:

• Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
