EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.  Proven experience in quality control and assurance within the concrete production industry.  Strong knowledge of concrete mix design, batching processes, and quality control techniques.  Expertise in laboratory testing of raw materials and concrete products.  Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.  Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.  Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality control role, preferably in the construction or concrete industry.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Control & Assurance

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control policies and procedures to ensure consistent product quality.


• Oversee all aspects of raw material inspection, in-process testing, and final product evaluations.


• Conduct regular laboratory testing of concrete samples for strength, durability, and compliance with specifications.


• Monitor and evaluate the quality of raw materials, such as aggregates, cement, and admixtures.

 

Process Improvement

• Analyze quality control data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.


• Collaborate with the production and operations teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.


• Develop and optimize mix designs to meet specific project requirement

Mix Design, Batching Oversight & Quality Evaluation

• Develop and optimize concrete mix recipes for various grades of concrete to meet customer and project specifications.


• Collaborate with production teams to adapt mix designs for specific projects, ensuring high performance and durability.


• Plan and ensure all concrete is batched per the required specifications and industry standards.


• Assess quality control documents and test reports to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

Laboratory Supervision & Testing

• Supervise all laboratory tests on raw materials and concrete products, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality benchmarks.


• Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained regularly.

Team Leadership & Training

• Lead, train, and manage a team of quality control technicians and laboratory staff.


• Conduct periodic training sessions for production and operational staff on quality standards, safety protocols, and best practices.


• Ensure all team members understand and adhere to quality control protocols.


• Assign quality control personnel to various sites to oversee and manage on-site quality control activities, ensuring consistency across production and project sites.

Process Improvement & Corrective Actions

• Analyze quality control data to identify trends, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement.


• Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement corrective and preventive actions to improve processes.


• Optimize concrete mix designs and production methods to meet specific project requirements and improve product quality.

Inspection, Documentation & Reporting

• Inspect, check, and document all test results for record-keeping and future reference.


• Prepare and present comprehensive weekly reports to management, highlighting key metrics, quality performance, and areas of concern.


• Maintain accurate records of all quality control tests, inspections, certifications, and corrective actions.

Compliance & Audits

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to concrete production.


• Prepare for and oversee internal and external audits of the quality management system, ensuring that all regulatory requirements and standards are met.
