Job Summary:

The Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans used in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or architectural projects. This role involves interpreting specifications, working closely with engineers and architects, and ensuring that drawings are precise, compliant with industry standards, and meet project requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong technical drawing skills, a keen eye for detail, and proficiency in relevant CAD software.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Drawing and Design:

• Prepare detailed drawings, blueprints, and plans based on specifications provided by engineers, architects, or clients.


• Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings.Revise drawings as needed based on feedback or changes in project specifications.


• Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards, codes, and regulations

Collaboration and Coordination:

• Work closely with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate them into the design.


• Collaborate with other departments or external stakeholders to ensure that drawings are consistent with the overall project goals.


• Communicate effectively with team members to clarify design specifications and address any issues that may arise during the drafting process.

Project Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation.


• Organize and archive drawings and project documents for easy retrieval and reference.


• Prepare reports and documentation to support project planning and implementation.

Quality Assurance:

• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications.


• Identify and correct any errors or inconsistencies in the drawings before submission or finalization.


• Ensure that all drawings meet the required quality standards and are delivered on time.

Site Visits and Measurements:

• Conduct site visits to gather measurements, photographs, and other necessary information to inform the drawing process.


• Take accurate measurements and convert them into detailed technical drawings.

Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulations.


• Stay updated on changes in industry standards and incorporate them into your work.

Continuous Improvement:

• Stay current with the latest developments in CAD software and drafting techniques.


• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Support and Assistance:

• Provide technical support to engineers, architects, and other team members as needed.


• Assist in the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials related to the project

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor of Technology degree in Drafting, building technology design, or a related field.


• 2-3 years of experience as a Draughtsman, preferably in the construction, engineering, or architectural sectors.


• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant design tools.


• Strong understanding of engineering and architectural principles, building codes, and industry standards.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in site visits and field measurements.


• Knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, SolidWorks) is an advantage.


• Previous experience working on large-scale projects is a plus.
