Contract Duration: 12 months
JOB SUMMARY
The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and basic upkeep of the office premises, including a two-floor office building, garden areas, and associated boys’ quarters. The position requires reliability, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work independently while complying with established procedures and schedules.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Office and Indoor Cleaning
a. Clean and maintain all office areas across two floors, including offices, meeting rooms, corridors, staircases, reception areas, and storage spaces.
b. Clean and sanitise toilets, washrooms, and kitchen/pantry areas on a daily basis.
c. Dust, sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, windows and glasses, and equipment as required.
d. Empty waste bins, separate waste where applicable, and ensure proper disposal in accordance with office guidelines.
e. Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
Boys’ Quarters (guest room)
f. Ensure cleanliness and order in the boys’ quarters, including sleeping areas, and sanitary facilities.
Outdoor Areas and Garden
g. Clean outdoor areas, verandas, entrances, and surrounding premises.
h. Maintain the garden area, including sweeping paths, removing litter, watering plants, and ensuring general tidiness (excluding gardening).
Equipment and Supplies
i. Use cleaning equipment and materials properly and safely.
j. Timely report any need for replacement of cleaning supplies, equipment damage, or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
k. Ensure cleaning tools and storage areas are kept clean, organised, and secure.
Health, Safety, and Other Duties
l. Observe health and safety standards, including the correct handling of cleaning chemicals.
m. Respect privacy, confidentiality, and security procedures within the office premises.
n. Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor, compatible with professional capacity.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
a. Proven experience as a cleaner, housekeeper, or in a similar role (preferred).
b. Ability to clean and maintain large premises efficiently.
c. Basic knowledge of safe cleaning practices and use of cleaning products.
d. Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
e. Knowledge of safety rules in offices.
Education
f. Basic Education Certificate.
Experience
g. At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in similar roles with references.
Technical Skills
h. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
i. Strong document management and filing skills;
j. Basic knowledge of administrative and financial procedures.

Languages
p. English (written and spoken).
PREFERENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Previous experience working in the field of development with INGOs, UN agencies or Cooperation agencies.
