Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
Professional accreditation or membership with a recognized body such as GhIS, IQS, or equivalent.
Minimum of 7–10 years’ proven experience as a consultant quantity surveyor across road construction, building construction, and railway construction projects.
Demonstrated experience in cost planning, contract administration, claims management, and multi-sector consultancy.
In-depth understanding of international and local standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, NEC).
Proficiency in cost management and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, Candy, WinQS, MS Excel).
Strong knowledge of construction techniques, industry standards, and best practices across multiple sectors.

Description
Job Purpose:
The Project Consultant (Quantity Surveyor) will provide high-level professional consultancy, cost management, and contractual advice for multiple large-scale infrastructure projects, specifically covering road construction, building construction, and railway construction. The role ensures that projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to quality expectations, while effectively managing risk and driving value for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cost planning, budgeting, and financial monitoring for complex road, building, and railway projects from feasibility to completion.
- Conduct detailed cost estimates, feasibility studies, and value engineering assessments across diverse infrastructure sectors.
- Prepare, review, and manage contracts, subcontracts, and procurement documentation in accordance with industry-standard conditions (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
- Coordinate and manage the entire tendering process, including preparing Bills of Quantities (BoQs), evaluating tenders, and advising on contractor selection.
- Administer contracts, prepare interim valuations, certify contractor payments, and handle variations and claims for multiple project types.
- Provide expert guidance on cost control strategies, project risk management, and cost-saving measures for roads, buildings, and railways.
- Oversee preparation of periodic cost reports, financial statements, and final accounts for diverse stakeholders.
- Advise clients on contractual disputes and provide claims management support as needed.
- Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors and support staff to build capacity within the team.
- Liaise with project stakeholders including clients, engineers, contractors, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct site inspections to validate progress and verify quantities in accordance with certified payments.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
