- JOB PURPOSE
The Lead, Private/SME Business Practice is responsible for driving the Firm’s Private/SME Business operations. The Lead is responsible for executing business initiatives and strategies for Private/SME sector engagements and projects, ensuring the identification of opportunities, establishment of strategic collaborations, and creation of a strong business pipeline. This will include deploying effective prospecting strategies, strengthening the Firm’s presence within private/SME sector institutions, and driving sustainable growth to achieve organisational objectives, consistent with the Firm’s strategy.
- JOB DESCRIPTION
- Business Development Consulting
The Business Development Consulting role of the Lead, Private/SME Business Practice include;
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive the Firm’s private/SMEs sector market
- Lead the business development consulting process of the Firm’s private/SME sector market including prospecting for projects, pitching, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Work closely with the CCE and collaborate with internal practice teams to develop customized solutions and services for potential clients in the private/SME sector
- Develop and present business proposals, RFPs, and presentations to senior leadership including CEOs, Board Members and high-level client decision-makers on projects
- Develop and maintain consistent project/sales pipeline in the private/SME sector and track progress on business performance.
- Market/Industry Research & Analysis
The Market/Industry Research & Analysis role of the Lead, Private/SME Business Practice include;
- Conduct regular, data-centric market and industry analysis, looking at the business prospects in the private/SME sector, key projects and stakeholders of interest such as business and industry associations.
- Identify and generate new business opportunities by researching and analysing market trends, competitor activities, and client needs in the targeted private/SME sector
- Monitor industry developments and emerging trends on the private/SME sector to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Proactively identify, pursue and secure new business opportunities by leveraging network and conducting research and analysing market trends, competitor activities and client needs
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to identify business opportunities and present strategies to support business development initiatives for the private/SME sector business.
- Identify competitor analysis of key competitors for cybersecurity and related services in the sector and present strategies to mitigate or contain potential competitor threats to the Firm’s business interests.
- Clients, Partners & Market/Industry Engagement
The Clients, Partners & Market Engagement role of the Lead, Private/SME Business Practice include;
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and establish connections for business prospects and projects in the private/SME sector
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, potential clients, and industry partners in the sector
- Develop and maintain up-to-date database of Clients, Partners and Collaborators for the Firm’s private/SME sector prospects.
- Ensure the Firm is registered with relevant institutions/bodies (procurement units, IT/Cybersecurity Units, trade bodies, etc.) to do business with such institutions and ensure that such accreditations/ registrations are up-to-date and the Firm, as a brand, is in good standing all the time.
- Identify and explore beneficial partnerships to prospect and deliver cybersecurity projects in the private/SME sector and ensure such beneficial partnerships should ensure the Firm’s competitive advantage and interests are maintained at all times.
- Practice Team/Organisational Development & Practice Area Risk & Responsibilities
The Practice Team/Organisational Development & Practice Area Risk & Responsibilities of the Lead, Private/SME Business Practice, include;
- Oversee the growth and professional development of the practice team, ensuring a fit for purpose team to deliver the Private/SME sector business portfolio of the Firm
- Liaise with the Lead, People & Culture to identify and deliver training programme to enhance team’s expertise and maintain industry best practices.
- Improve operational efficiency by refining workflows, methodologies, improving teamwork and collaborations as well as best practices to deliver quality tasks/projects in a timely manner.
- Support and contribute to the Firm’s organizational development initiatives and to promote collaboration between internal teams and external partners to strengthen organisational effectiveness for business growth.
- Responsible for the operational risks management of the Private/SME Practice and you are expected to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance and risk management, reputational risk management arising from the Practice Area’s consulting/operational engagements with Internal Staff, Clients, Partners and other Stakeholders.
- Practice Area Revenue Generation & Business Growth
The Practice Area Revenue Generation & Business Growth role of the Lead include,
- Develop a strategy to ensure consistent revenue flow from Private/SME operations, consistent with performance targets and expectations set for the Practice Area
- Research, study and track cybersecurity and related budget allocations by private sector and SMEs and develop proposals to provide services/solutions relative to such allocations.
- Develop approaches to streamline internal processes, reduce operational and private/SME sector business development costs to enhance productivity to maximise profitability.
- Conduct regular cashflow analysis to ensure sustainable revenue generation based on Private/SME Practice revenue projections and set performance/revenue targets.
- Collaborate with the CCE and other practice areas to develop tailored consulting services that address the unique challenges and opportunities within the SME ecosystem.
- Build and nurture strategic connections and networks with business and/or professional associations, chambers of commerce, and industry leaders to enhance visibility and trust of the Firm’s services for the private/SME sector.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
- Good understanding of business dynamics, sales cycles, and consultative selling techniques.
- Strong ability to identify and capitalise on business opportunities through strategic thinking and market analysis.
- Business development or consulting background and experience is required, with energy and drive to drive consulting strategies
- A good planner with demonstrable project management skills is desired
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with a strategic mindset and the ability to communicate professionally.
- Proven experience in developing and executing plans strategies in a corporate, institutional or consulting environment.
- Team leadership and mentoring skills.
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and adapt to different cultural and business environments.
- Ability to analyse industry market/industry trends and turn insights into strategic decisions.
- Networking skills and membership of professional and business-oriented social networks/groups, with ability to approach/network with business leaders (Heads of Departments, CEOs, Board Chairs/Members, and Key Decision-Makers, etc.)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity/data protection and with a technical certification in any of these areas is recommended.
