Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To analyse market dynamics and trends, products, and business performance in general, and work with the Sales department to innovate and create products that will be beneficial to the growth and overall profitability of the institution through scanning the market and business environment and advising on products viability, demand and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review the results of the business through monitoring the number of clients, number of loans, portfolio growth, determines deviations from the plan and provides solutions for their improvement.
- Initiates the necessary activities for the introduction of new and changes to existing products and services that will enable the financial inclusion of clients across the business, in accordance with the strategy of developing new products, services and distribution channels.
- Conducts analyses necessary to determine the justification of the introduction and/or modification of products and services from the aspect of client needs, market conditions, benefits to the institution and in relation to the set goals for the business.
- Proposes new technologies with the aim of improving the institution's products and services for clients, thus providing better customer service and lower costs per loan.
- Researches and analyses the needs of clients with limited access to financial services, positioning of the institution's products and opportunities to enter new market niches.
- Leads projects in the area of product, service and process development across the organisation.
- Proposes ideas for increasing the retention rate of existing clients and increasing the number of new clients.
- Establishes and develops procedures and other related activities in relation to business development in existing and new client segments. This is to help define the target group of clients and product characteristics.
- Encourages the application of best practices in the Branch network and actively uses feedback to improve the institution's products and services offered to help increase client outreach.
- Proposes budget and plans related to the business growth and actively participates in strategic and business planning.
- Seeks partnerships with institutions and related agencies that our financial institution can partner to achieve growth in both loan and deposit products. Such outfits may include insurance companies, pension related institutions, Government agencies and departments, private companies etc.
- Performs any other duties assigned by the Head of Marketing and Product Development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Degree in Banking, Finance, Business, Economics, Statistics or Accounting, or any relevant Social Science Subject with 5-8 years of Sales and Marketing, Banking, or Market Intelligence related role.
- A Master’s degree will be an added value.
Commercial Operations Management Experience
- 5 years or more experience in lending/credit management gained from a financial and/or micro lending background.
- Knowledge of microfinance and banking industry.
- Knowledge and experience in lending, credit and risk management including pre-loan eligibility requirements, client screening, collateral, product design, loan approval processes, repayment terms and incentives, delinquency and default management.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry with insight into products and institutional performance
