Head coach Miron Muslic said Plymouth Argyle's attack has to be "more dangerous" after their disappointing 1-0 home loss to Queens Park Rangers.
The Austrian said his side were "sloppy" and "lacked physicality" in the defeat, which dropped the Pilgrims to five points from safety at the bottom of the Championship.
Muslic was particularly disappointed with his strikeforce as a front four of Ryan Hardie, Morgan Whittaker, Michael Baidoo and Rami Al Hajj mustered one shot on target.
The Pilgrims have scored only four goals in their past seven games in all competitions.
"The reality is also that we are struggling defensively, we are struggling offensively, but especially in home games we have to be more dangerous," Muslic told BBC Radio Devon.
"We had today with Morgan, with Baidoo, with Al Hajj, and also with Hardie, four offensive players on the pitch, but we just didn't manage to have those moments.
"It was sloppy. I know in football you sometimes have games like this, it's also part of this, but we have to find solutions and we have also to get up as soon as possible, as quickly as possible.
"I think we're also looking for some reinforcement. We will need this to strengthen up our squad."
Muslic added the club is actively looking to improve the side's attack, although he left Michael Obafemi out of Saturday's squad despite the Republic of Ireland forward being ineligible for Wednesday's home game against his parent club Burnley.
But he said new signings will not change the side's fortunes alone - improvement must come from the players already at Home Park as well.
"It's not only about getting the players in, it's about supporting this current squad and they need this.
"Argyle was very clear to me over the last 10 days, 12 days, that they are pushing and they are preparing the necessary support for the team, and I think in the next couple of days we will also have some players here.
"I know the time is ticking because the schedule is heavy, but also is for the other teams.
"It's about us finding the right personality and the right character players who realise the urgent situation we are in, ready to come here to fight, to support, and to find a way out.
"If we can manage to do this we have a chance to stay up."
