MultiChoice Ghana has officially unveiled its offering for the biggest and most revered football tournament, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, at an event held at the iconic Independence Arch in Accra.
This campaign, which is geared toward amplifying the feeling and excitement of the fans dubbed ‘It’s All Here’, will see fans and footballers enjoy one of the most sought-after football events, which will start on November 21, 2022.
Addressing guests at the launch, Alex Okyere, Managing Director of MultiChoice Ghana, announced that SuperSport would offer DStv and GOtv customers the best coverage and analysis of all 64 matches at the World Cup.
“On DStv, we are dedicating eight HD channels to the coverage of the World Cup. This will feature team news, magazine shows, fans engagement in Qatar and in the home countries of all participating Africa Teams. On GOtv, we will have for the first time, four pop-up channels to air the world cup,” Mr Okyere noted.

He also said that viewers would enjoy multiple language options, and for the first time, there would be live commentary in Twi (a prominent Ghanaian language).
“We are happy to announce live commentary in Twi. We have concluded all the necessary precheck and training of our local language commentators and we would start with the premier league so they would be familiar with the technology and gain enough experience ahead of the World Cup in November.”
He further noted that DStv customers would also be able to stream all the 64 matches live on their smart devices on the DStv App and on Showmax.
On his part, the chairman of the board of directors for MultiChoice Ghana, Richard Darko, also expressed his excitement ahead of the World Cup. He lauded MultiChoice for their continuous investment in sports for viewers across the continent, adding that DStv and GOtv customers will enjoy the best of the World Cup coverage at very affordable price.
The Minister for Youth and Sport, Mustapha Ussif, who also graced the occasion, pledged the unflinching support of his ministry to MultiChoice Ghana, adding that SuperSport has a record of producing the best content in sports.
Together with the team from MultiChoice and representatives from the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), the minister officially launched the coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2022, which was characterised by fireworks.
