Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe, has suffered an injury blow, few days before his fight against, Russian opponent, Vyacheslav Gusev, on Saturday, January 26, at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra for the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa and Global Lightweight titles.
Also at stake would be International Boxing Federation (IBF) International Lightweight title.
Tagoe, was on Wednesday, hit with a wrist injury, hence the decision by his camp to call off the much expected bout, dubbed “Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2”.
In view of this, his opponent, who was expected to arrive in Ghana on Friday, January 25, has also been asked to reschedule his flight.
According to the organisers, a new date would be announced in February.
Tagoe, also known as “Game Boy”Tagoe (29-1, 14 KOs), who has been signed by DiBella Entertainment, is making a return into the ring for the last time in Ghana, as he was scheduled to relocate to the United States of America (USA).
The rescheduled fight, was to enable him defend his recently captured World Boxing Authority (WBO) Africa Lightweight title against experienced Russian, Vyacheslav Gusev (25-5, 8 KOs), whilst the opponent also places on line, his WBO Global title.
