A 13- member Local Organising Committee (LOC), has been unveiled for this year's Ghana Technical Universities Sports Association (GHATUSA) Games.
The games to hosted by Accra Technical University, from 1st to 10th February, would be the biggest sporting fiesta, with all Technical Universities and the two Polytechnics (Wa and Bolgatanga), competing for honours and bragging rights.
Professor Edmund Ameko, Acting Vice- Chancellor of Accra Technical University, inaugurated the LOC, made up of ten men and three women, to spearhead activities.
Professor Ameko urged the LOC and the Technical Committee members to work hard to ensure the success of next year’s sports festival and also make it possible for ATU to emerge the overall winners in the games, adding ‘we must host and win’.
Mr. Princeworth K.D. Anane would chair the Technical Committee, with Mr. Samuel Sundong in charge of Accreditation, whilst Miss Fausta K. Ganaa takes over Media & Communication Committee.
Mr. Seth Allotey would be in charge of Games & Competition Management, as Dr. Ernest Winful would Ceremonies & Protocol Committee.
The last edition of the GHATUSA Games hosted by the Bolgatanga Polytechnic in April, 2017 saw Accra Technical University crowned champions followed by Kumasi Technical University, Takoradi Technical University and Koforidua Technical University respectively.
