Supporters of Mr John Kwesi Agyabeng, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Agona East and Mr Theophilus Maranga, an Independent Candidate for the constituency on Thursday joined hands in a peaceful atmosphere to discuss matters affecting the progress of the constituency.
The joyous moment occurred when Mr Agyabeng arrived at Mankrong-Junction to campaign for votes.
Supporters of the two candidates sang and danced together for sometime before they separated for each candidate to continue his campaign.
Mr Alex Nkansah-Anyanful, Agona East Constituency Chairman of the NPP told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that politics is not war, but rather a friendly game, adding that he wondered why some politicians had decided to create fear and anxiety among the electorate.
He said democracy was at its best when the two candidates who are vying for the seat sat on one bench to chat together without trading insults against each other.
He commended supporters of both candidates for the matured manner they comported themselves and appealed to the NPP supporters in the area to conduct the electioneering campaign in a peaceful manner.
