Mrs Augustina Akosua Akumanyi, Deputy Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has urged voters to elect competent and development-oriented people to the district assemblies.
She said it was by doing so that their communities would be assured of accelerated socio-economic progress.
Addressing an educational forum held by the NCCE at Adanwomase in the Kwabre East District, Mrs Akumanyi encouraged voters to turn out in their numbers to cast their ballot on Tuesday (December 28).
She said this was a civic responsibility every qualified voter should take seriously to help deepen governance at the local level.
The forum was aimed at whipping up the enthusiasm of the people to patronise the district assembly and unit committee elections.
Mr Yaw Oppong Fosu, District Director of the NCCE, said there was the need for the people to help ensure the success of the district level elections.
