Mr Kwasi Boakye, a judge at the Takoradi Circuit court on Wednesday caused his court to reel with laughter when he called Kojo Asante, an accused person who admitted he suffers from epilepsy, a beast for smoking Indian hemp.
"Are you a goat? You know that you have such a sickness and you indulge in smoking 'wee'? Do you want to spin on the floor like a cockroach? He asked Asante.
The judge said this following a confession from the accused that he had epilepsy and that his father had brought him to a pastor at Bankyease in Takoradi for treatment but to no avail.
Prosecuting, Inspector Theodore Alhassan told the court that on November 8 the accused was arrested by a police patrol team at Windy Ridge
in Takoradi smoking Indian hemp.
The plea of the accused was not taken and the court adjourned hearing to December 13.
