The Minority Caucus in parliament has held a high-level meeting with officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in a bid to provide feedback on the country’s recent economic developments.
According to a statement issued by the Minority on Monday, March 16, the Caucus described the discussions as “constructive and mutually beneficial,” highlighting a shared commitment to ensuring sound governance and economic management in Ghana.
The engagement, requested by the Minority Caucus, created a platform for lawmakers to directly share insights and concerns with IMF representatives on matters affecting Ghana’s economic stability and growth.

Present at the discussions were key members of the Minority Caucus, including Minority leader Alexander Afenyo Markind, Second Deputy Minority Whip Jerry Ahmed Shaib, Ranking Member on Finance Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, Ranking Member on Economy and Development Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Chairman on Budget Kweku Agyeman Kwarteng, Chairperson of Public Accounts Abena Osei-Asare, and Deputy Ranking Member on Energy Collins Adomako-Mensah.
Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party Dr. Antoinette Tsiboe-Darko, also attended as a party representative.
The IMF delegation was led by Resident Representative Adrian Alter and included Coordinator of AFRITAC West 2, Razafimahefa Ivohasina Fizara and Economist at the IMF Country Office Osa Ahinakwah.
