The Chief and people Mumford have reminded the Government to start the construction of the proposed fishing harbour in the town to help to promote the fishing industry in the area.
Nana Edwey X, Chief of the Mumford said the project was very dear to the people in the area and therefore urged President John Evens Atta Mills to
ensure that the project was executed.
Nana Edwey made the reminder in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Mumford. According to the chief the sod-cutting for the project took
place before the December Presidential and Parliamentary Elections but the Project was jet to start.
"The people of Mumford are, therefore, anxiously waiting for the promise to be fulfilled, adding that if by the end of the year 2009, nothing
has been heard, the chiefs and his elder would send a delegation to the President."
