Reverend Emmanuel Bortey, Superintendent Minister of the Rev. Ernest Bruce Methodist Church on Sunday said the church was educating its members on the need to exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner during the general elections on December 7.
"The awareness process had already begun and today, members will be given a 'peace card' to fill to pledge their commitment".
Rev. Bortey said this at the opening of a photo exhibition mounted by the church to celebrate its founding fathers as well as to mark its 90th anniversary.
The exhibition showcased pictures of past ministers, lay preachers, society stewards, secretaries and some individuals who had contributed to the growth and development of the church since its establishment in 1918.
Rev. Bortey said the church had contributed to the development of its catchments area adding, "We have school facilities and the Poor Fund all serving the needs of people around".
He said the year-long celebration would be marked by activities such as health walk, debates and visits to selected hospitals.
