As cyber threats targeting governments, financial institutions, and critical infrastructure continue to rise at an alarming rate worldwide, organisations across both public and private sectors in Ghana are intensifying efforts to strengthen the resilience of their digital systems.
Against this backdrop, global connectivity and cybersecurity leader Cloudflare, together with its strategic West African Partner Comsec Technology solutions, hosted an extensive three-day cybersecurity seminar series in Accra.
The initiative was specifically aimed at strengthening cyber resilience and protecting Ghana’s rapidly evolving digital economy from sophisticated cyber warfare, including large-scale Distributed Denial-Of-Service (DDoS) attacks.
The Seminar comes as Cloudflare continues to aggressively expand its global network infrastructure. This includes the strategic presence of network nodes in Accra, which help deliver faster, more reliable, and significantly more secure internet services across Ghana and the wider West African region by mitigating threats at the edge, closer to the source.
A unified Front for National Cyber Defence
The seminar series brought together a prestigious assembly of industry leaders, technology professionals, and key decision-makers from organisations that form the backbone of Ghana’s digital economy.
Attendees included representatives from major financial institutions, government agencies, telecommunication providers, and other essential national service sectors.
The event saw high-level participation, reflecting the growing urgency of cybersecurity in the region. A senior representative from Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) delivered vital remarks during the sessions, highlighting the critical importance of collaborative ecosystems between government institutions, international technology providers, and local industry stakeholders to build a “Cyber-Safe Ghana.”
Combating the Surge in DDoS and Web Attacks
During the intensive sessions, cybersecurity specialists from Cloudflare shared global insights into the shifting threat landscape. A major focus was placed on the rise of DDoS attacks, which are designed to overwhelm and shut down digital platforms.
Cloudflare experts demonstrated modern, automated approaches for protecting web applications, API’s, and internet-facing services from these disruptions.
Complementing the global perspective, technology experts from Comsec Technology Solutions provided deep local implementation insights. They discussed practical region-specific security strategies and shared success stories of organisations in Ghana that have successfully modernised defence postures.
Leadership Perspectives speaking at the event, Boaz Alon, CEO of Comsec Technology Solutions, emphasised the evolution of the digital landscape, “As organisations across Ghana increasingly rely on complex digital systems and online services, cybersecurity has transitioned from an IT concern to a critical pillar of business continuity and national trust. Initiatives like this seminar series allow us to bring world-class global expertise together with our local implementation experience to ensure Ghanaian Organizations remain resilient in the face of any threat”
Adding a global perspective, Graham Turnbull. Account Executive at Cloudflare stated, “Our goal is to help build a better internet that is secure and fast for everyone. By strengthening our partnership with Comsec and investing in local infrastructure in Accra, we are providing Ghanaian enterprises with the tools needed to defend against the world’s most sophisticated DDoS attacks and cyber threats, ensuring their digital services remain always-on and performant”

Tailored sessions for Critical Sectors
The seminar series featured dedicated, deep dive sessions on Financial System Protection focussed on securing banking applications, protecting transaction data, and ensuring compliance in a high-risk digital environment.
Government and Public Services tailored discussions for institutions managing critical national data, focusing on maintaining service availability and public trust. This collaborative initiative reflects the long-term commitment of both Comsec Technology Solutions and Cloudflare to support Ghana with advanced cybersecurity knowledge and modern protection technologies designed to safeguard the nation’s digital future.
