The Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey, has reaffirmed his commitment to creating a conducive and motivating working environment for staff.
Speaking during his engagement with staff at the DVLA Head office, Weija, and the Tema offices on Friday, Mr Kotey reiterated his commitment to staff welfare, highlighting plans to address key issues including promotions, healthcare, and other incentives to enhance productivity.
The interactive session provided an opportunity for staff to share their concerns, suggestions, and ideas for improving the Authority’s operations, with emphasis on the value of teamwork.
Mr Kotey said the interactive session with the staff fostered synergy, productivity and healthy working environment.
He also encouraged the staff to continue striving for excellence, adding that he appreciated their hard work and dedication towards delivering quality services to the public.
Mr Kotey called on the staff to work in collaboration, while prioritising customer satisfaction as a way of maintaining a positive public image of the Authority.
The Chief Executive stressed on the importance of eliminating the influence of middlemen commonly known as “goro boys”, by ensuring efficient and transparent service delivery, adding that, “By so doing, I believe DVLA can strengthen its reputation and make a lasting impact in the eyes of the public.”
He warned that he would not countenance the actions of any staff that seeks to mar the reputation of the Authority.
Mr Kotey also reiterated the Authority’s commitment to the government’s plans to implement the 24-hour economy stating thatit would position itself in due course to effectively operationalise the ambitions of President John Dramani Mahama in that regard.
On his part, the Deputy Chief Executive, Mr Foster Akwasi Asante, shared his vision for the institution, outlining plans to review, reset and restore DVLA.
He further encouraged the staff to contribute constructive ideas to build a better and more efficient Authority.
The engagements, according to him, was to boost staff morale and to reinforce DVLA’s commitment to excellence in public service.
Mr Asante was grateful to the staff for the warm reception saying he was overwhelmed with the warm reception he received on the assumption of office.
The managers assured the chief executive of their staff ’s unwavering support, stating that they will continue to give of their best to make DVLA the leading institution in the country.
