The Right-Reverend Thomas Kwaku Mensah, Catholic Bishop of Obuasi, has advised parents to invest in their children's education and to encourage them to study hard to enable them to pass their examinations.
He said all Catholic parishes in Obuasi would soon collaborate efforts to establish primary schools so that all children would have access to basic education.
Bishop Mensah was addressing a durbar organised by the newly created Manso-Nkwanta parish in the Amansie West District for him during a duty tour.
He called on the parishes to uphold the Catholic faith, love and respect one another, care for the sick and poor in order to win more souls for Christ.
Bishop Mensah said HIV/AIDS was real and was no respecter of persons and advised Ghanaians to avoid casual sex to prevent the spread of the disease.
Rev Father John Dwobeng of the new parish thanked the Bishop for elevating the Church to the status of a parish and assisting in the building of a mission house.
Rev Father Dwobeng also thanked Nana Bi-Kusi Appiah II, Omanhene of Manso-Nkwanta for contributing to development of the Church.
