The Burundian ruling Conseil National pour la D�fense de la D�mocratie-Forces de D�fense de la D�mocratie (CNDD-FDD) has won the senatorial election which was held on Wednesday.
Local media reported on Thursday that CNDD-FDD garnered 32 of the 34 seats in Wednesday's senatorial elections organized in Burundi's 17 provinces.
The Union pour le Progr�s National (UPRONA), on its part, got 2 seats after arrangements between voters of both parties in 2 constituencies.
Local media reported on Wednesday evening that those arrangements were made in two provinces, namely in Bururi Province and in Bujumbura Municipality.
Heads of Provincial Electoral Commissions have confirmed those results.
The senatorial elections are the fourth in a series of five elections underway in Burundi since May. The last elections are village-based ones and
are due on September 7 this year.
