Suge Knight has made it clear that Ye (f.k.a.) Kanye West crossed the line with his latest controversial remarks about his industry peers, specifically JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s children.
In a recent interview from prison on The Art of Dialogue podcast, the Death Row Records co-founder didn’t hold back, condemning Ye for insulting the Carters’ 7-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir. “I need to holla at Kanye,” Knight said. “We never, never disrespect no one’s kids. You don’t talk about JAY and Beyoncé’s children and call them ‘r*tarded.’ That’s what we won’t do. It’s real consequences for those type of actions.”
Knight went on to express his deep disappointment in Ye’s behavior, emphasizing that the Hip-Hop community should be held to a higher moral standard. “I hold people in Hip-Hop, people in our community, to higher standards than that,” he continued. “We came a long way as Black people, as slaves, not to protect people’s kids or people that are disabled. That’s not funny to me, not one bit.” He then took it a step further, calling Kanye a “bi**h” and insisting, “he needs an old-fashioned a**-whooping.”
Despite his criticism of Ye, Knight had nothing but praise for Beyoncé, highlighting her dedication to music and her impact on the culture. “What Beyoncé does for Hip-Hop and the community of our people, that woman works really, really hard. Her sister, her whole family is good people,” he added.
The backlash stems from a series of inflammatory social media posts where Kanye mocked JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s youngest children, making derogatory claims about their mental health. In one of his most shocking rants yet, Ye wrote on X earlier this month: “WAIT HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN JAY Z AND BEYONCES YOUNGER KIDS. THEYRE R*TARDED. NO LIKE LITERALLY. AND THIS IS WHY ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION IS A BLESSING. HAVING R*TARDED CHILDREN IS A CHOICE.”
Although he later deleted the post, West followed up with another disturbing message: “I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I TOOK THE POST ABOUT JAY Z AND BEYONCE’S FAMILY DOWN AND JERRY LORENZO’S FAMILY DOWN BECAUSE THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF MY TWITTER BEING CANCELLED, NOT BECAUSE IM A GOOD PERSON. I TOOK IT DOWN LIKE DOWN SYNDROME. GET IT. AM I RIGHT. F**K THE WORLD. REAL TALK. F**K EEEEVVEEERREEE BODY.”
Refusing to back down, Kanye continued his attack on the power couple, writing: “AT LEAST JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ GET TO RAISE THEIR R*TARDED A** KIDS. AINT NO CELEBRITY EVER SAID NOTHING TO COME TO MY AID WHEN IT CAME TO THESE WHITE WOMEN TAKING MY KIDS. CAUSE THEY WAS MAD I WAS WEARING TRUMP HAT. F**K JAY Z AND HIS WHOLE FAMILY. ESPECIALLY HIS SHOOTERS. AND NOW THAT YOU THINK JAY Z PU**Y A** MADE ME TAKE IT DOWN I GOT TO DOUBLE DOWN.”
While JAY-Z and Beyoncé have remained silent on the matter, sources told Page Six that the couple is discussing legal action against their former friend and collaborator.
