The Hohoe Municipal Assembly was able to mobilize 356,289 Ghana cedis as its internally generated revenue out of a target of 576,048 Ghana cedis as at April.
The assembly proposes to mobilize 1,728,150 Ghana cedis as revenue this year.
It received 66,842 Ghana cedis as its first quarter net allocation from the District Assembly Common Fund out of a gross allocation of 225,327 Ghana cedis. Its total annual allocation from the fund was put at 958,696 Ghana cedis.
Mr John Peter Amewu, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, said this at the assembly's first general assembly meeting.
GHc 176,246 was received under the first phase of the Sixth European Union (EU) Micro Project Programme, with projects at various stages of completion including four 16-seater vault chamber toilets at Tafi-Atome, Ve-Koloenu, Golokwati and Santrokofi-Gbogame.
A day-care centre, teachers' quarters, clinic, culvert and Junior High School were being constructed at Fodome-Ahor, Ve-Deme, Wli-Todzi, Santrokofi-Benua and Likpe-Kukurantumi respectively under the EU project.
Mr Amewu said work was progressing steadily on the stadium fence wall project and the upper floor of lockable stores at the Hohoe main market at the cost of GHc 196,700 and GHc 12,700 respectively under the DACF project.
A one-unit dormitory block with master's bungalow, construction of administration block, two-storey hostel with Housemaster's bungalow have been completed at the School for Mentally Handicapped at Gbi-Kledzo, Hohoe E. P. Senior High School (SHS) and Akpafu-Mempeasem SHS.
On roads, he said over 105 kilometres of trunk and feeder roads network being funded by the government of Ghana, Ghana Highway Authority and Ghana Cocoa Board were at various levels of completion and urged the contractors to speed up work to avoid being sanctioned.
Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister in an address read for him, urged Municipal and District assemblies to address the shortfalls in revenue mobilization to complement other sources of revenue.
He called for prudent strategies that would enable the Assemblies to explore non-traditional sources of revenue, which hitherto are neglected.
