The Association of Ghana Industries on Friday said
1,000 copies of its tax guide were reprinted with the support of AMALBANK to enhance dissemination of information on the country's tax laws to businesses.
Handing over the reprinted copies Mr. Tony Oteng-Gyasi, President of AGI in Accra on Friday said the compilation of the tax guide law book put to rest the hassle businesses had to go through to locate company laws which were scattered all over the country's statute books.
He said the book was aimed at improving issues of tax compliance, transparency in respect of tax obligations and simplifying of tax laws to enable the Ghanaian business community understand the taxation system comprehensively.
He said the AGI advocated for a corporate tax code, which would be based on profits earned adding this would strengthen the capacity to build internal capital for accelerated growth of business.
He expressed gratitude for the gesture extended by the AmalBank saying "we are proud to acknowledge the generous contributions of AmalBank by sponsoring the reprint, enabling the AGI to disseminate vital information to businesses all over the country".
Mr Menson Torkornoo, Deputy Managing Director of the AmalBank pledged the bank's commitment to promote the AGI's tax advocacy for the simplification of the tax system and its administration in the country.
He said AmalBank considered honouring tax obligation as corporate social responsibility and hence its involvement by way of sponsoring the reprint of the tax guide book.
He said the bank was also committed to promoting conducive environment that would ultimately lead to accelerated growth of the Ghanaian economy.
