Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has reiterated the government’s commitment to building a 24-hour economy aimed at reducing business bottlenecks and creating more opportunities for Ghanaian enterprises.
Speaking on Sunday, September 7, during the second day of the This Is Ghana Exhibition in Accra, Mr. Debrah explained that the initiative is tailored to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
“Our 24-hour economy policy is designed to create more opportunities, reduce bottlenecks, and ensure that Ghanaian businesses operate in an environment that matches your ambition and creativity,” he stated.
Mr. Debrah commended key state institutions, including the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), Ghana Exim Bank, and the Ghana Enterprises Agency, for supporting local businesses. He said their participation reflected government’s determination to expand access to finance, scale up Ghanaian enterprises, and prepare them to compete globally.
He further urged Ghanaians to prioritise Made-in-Ghana products, stressing that patronising local goods will strengthen industries and create employment.
“You are not just showcasing products. You are showcasing Ghana’s future. With persistence, quality, and innovation, Ghana can rise to occupy its rightful place in the global market,” he told exhibitors.
Mr. Debrah added that reducing reliance on foreign goods would directly boost national development and job creation. He assured that government would continue to provide the enabling environment for businesses to flourish, since the success of local enterprises translates into success for the entire nation.
