Acacia Health Insurance Limited, a member of the Enterprise Group, has appointed Mrs Araba Asumanu as its new Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025.
Her appointment marks what the company describes as a new phase in its growth journey, with a renewed focus on leadership and innovation in healthcare financing.
Mrs Asumanu, a Chartered Accountant, brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, auditing, strategic planning and insurance operations. She holds an Executive MBA in Finance and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Insurance and a Certificate in Taxation.
She began her professional career with KPMG before joining Enterprise Insurance in 1999, where she rose steadily through the ranks. In 2011, she became the first Group Head of Internal Audit and Assurance for the Enterprise Group, and most recently served as General Manager, Finance at Enterprise Insurance. In that role, she was instrumental in driving financial strategy and supporting long-term value creation across the business.Her career has spanned auditing, accounting, compliance, investment and risk management, alongside leadership development. Colleagues and partners describe her as collaborative, execution-focused and committed to professional excellence.

Mrs Asumanu takes over from Dr Dan Armooh, who has led the company since 2015. Under his leadership, Acacia expanded its market presence and gained recognition for its customer-focused approach to health insurance. The firm was named Health Insurance Provider of the Year in both 2019 and 2021.
Significantly, Dr Armooh oversaw Acacia’s acquisition by the Enterprise Group in June 2021, a transaction that cemented the company’s position within one of Ghana’s leading financial services groups.
The company expressed its gratitude to Dr Armooh for his decade of service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
