AIDEC Digital has outdoored the State of the Arts Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Centre with a commitment to leveraging digital technology for economic growth, job creation and skills development.
Sir Ambrose Akyebe Yennah, Executive Chairman of AIDEC Digital, said: “The new BPO Centre is a strategic expansion that will provide world-class outsourcing services while creating employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth and this has always been the goal.”
The launch was on the theme: “Global Competitiveness and Strategic Partnerships: Positioning Ghana as a Top Outsourcing Hub through Strategic Collaborations and Job Creation.”
“With cutting-edge technology and a skilled workforce, AIDEC Digital aims to scale its operations and expand its service offerings in the medium to long term,” he added.
He envisioned its BPO Centre as a model for other African countries seeking to harness outsourcing services for economic growth.
The BPO industry is a global multi-billion-dollar industry valued at $260 billion (2022) that has transformed economies by leveraging digital technologies to deliver services remotely; this is projected to grow to $525 billion (2030).
Across the world, countries like India and the Philippines have collectively used BPO’s to create jobs, enhance the skills of their workforce, generate foreign exchange annually of more than $50 million.
In Africa, the BPO sector is rapidly expanding with a market estimated at over $2.8 billion (2022) and projected to grow annually at 4% from 2023 to 2030.
Mr Yennah said AIDEC Digital aimed to replicate this success in Ghana by offering customer support, data analytics, Information Technology and software development support, and digital marketing services.
He said these services would cater to both local businesses and international clients, boosting Ghana’s global competitiveness in the outsourcing market.
He said AIDEC Digital was committed to upskilling the workforce through specialized training in customer relations, IT support, digital marketing, and ISO certification.
This initiative aligns with government policies on digital transformation and youth employment, contributing to Ghana’s economic empowerment and 24-hour economy agenda.
He said the success of the AIDEC Digital BPO Centre was anchored on strong partnerships with both local and international stakeholders.
He said the initiative was supported by Academic City University, the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH), 7W Artificial Intelligence Company Ltd/IRCAI, PECB, Koenig, Cognisert, NextGen, Accurate, ITC/NTF, AFOS Foundation, GIZ, and Generation Ghana, among others.
He said the establishment of the Business Outsourcing Services Association of Ghana (BOSAG) in November 2024 signifies a strategic move to position Ghana as Africa’s premier BPO destination.
He said BOSAG aimed to tap into the Global BPO and IT Outsourcing market valued annually at over $1.0 trillion.
The Executive Chairman said this development indicates Ghana’s commitment to leveraging the BPO sector for economic growth, creating jobs and integration into the Global digital economy.
He said their service offerings at AIDEC BPO Centre include but were not limited to In-bound and Out-bound Call centre and Customer Support, Data Entry & Processing and Data Analytics and AI & Business Intelligence Solutions e-Learning.
The rest are IT training & ISO Certification, IT & Software Development Support Services and Digital Marketing & Content Management.
These services will support local businesses while serving international clients, making Ghana a competitive player in the global Business Process Outsourcing market.
He said AIDEC Digital was committed to equipping Ghanaian youth with demand driven digital skills through specialized training programs in digital customer relations, IT support, digital marketing, and ISO certification of individual professionals.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the government’s digital transformation, jobs creation and the 24-hour economic policy of the Government, thus contributing to economic empowerment and reduction in youth unemployment in Ghana.
He said with cutting-edge technology, a skilled workforce, and a commitment to excellence, security, and efficiency, “we are confident that the AIDEC BPO Centre will become a major contributor to Ghana’s economic growth and transformation.”
Mr David Gowu, the President of BOSAG, said they intended to help local businesses and international businesses to first take advantage of the talent they have in Africa, particularly Ghana.
He said these talents were made up of young graduates with very high levels of education and naturally ready to serve.
He said Ghana was ahead of its neighbours in the sub-region and was ready to embrace the BPO concept to serve couples with its Ghanaian hospitality.
