The benchmark index closed 2.30 points (+0.10%) higher at 2,245.87 with a year-to-date return of -12.69% on the back of price advancement in Republic Bank (+6.25%) while market capitalization increased by 0.04% to settle at GH¢56.68 billion.
The GSE Financial Index gained 4.28 points (+0.22%) to close at 1,982.89 with a -7.93% year-to-date return.
SIC Insurance (-11.11%) was the sole decliner at the session.
The manufacturing index remained unchanged at 3,513.76 with a -24.49% year-to-date return.
Trading activity waned as 80,266 shares valued at GH¢176,292.17 changed hands compared to 221,032 shares valued at GH¢500,089 at the previous session. GCB Bank dominated trades by volume and value, accounting for 34.83% of total volume traded and 79.26% of the total value traded.
