Hope Performance Tennis has announced its upcoming Hope High Performance Training Camp, a landmark event designed to inspire and nurture the talents of Ghana's young tennis players.
Founded by Enoch Godi, this initiative aims to provide top-tier training and opportunities for the nation’s promising tennis youth.
The training camp will take place at Winneba Sports College from August 15-30, 2024, where the top two players from each category of the Hope Junior National Ranking will showcase their skills. Among the selected players are:
- 14/16 Girls: Angel Bagerbaseh, Philips Kotey, Lisel Ampah, Christabel Aduafo Collins.
- 14/16 Boys: Jeff Frimpong, Michael Asakinaba, Edward Donkor, Isaac Akuako.
The camp will be led by a team of experienced coaches, including Yahya Macauley, who will provide expert guidance and mentorship to the young athletes.
Last month, Hope Performance Tennis Inc. donated tennis equipment worth an estimated $25,000 to several tennis clubs in Accra. The items, including clothes, shoes, rackets, and nets, were distributed during the climax of the Hope Tennis Clinic at the Accra Sports Stadium. Beneficiary clubs included Winneba Tennis Club, Accra Stadium Tennis Club, Ashaiman Tennis Club, and Burma Camp Tennis Club.
During the presentation, Godi highlighted the shift in strategy this year, with the equipment being given to well-performing clubs rather than directly to individual players. He emphasized that the goal of Hope Performance Tennis Inc. is to support and motivate children to pursue tennis with dedication.
The Hope High Performance Training Camp is poised to be a significant step in developing the next generation of Ghanaian tennis stars.
