Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, the Kwahuhene and President of the Kwahu Traditional Council (KTC), will on Monday, March 11, launch the second edition of the Kwahu Easter Mountain Marathon (KEMM), at the Esono Gyimah Mampong Adjei Palace, Abene, Kwahu.
The launch would be the second in series, after the Accra launch two weeks ago, at the head office of Startimes Ghana Limited.
According to a statement from the organizers, Medivent Consult, Dasebre Akumoah Agyapong II, would use occasion to throw more light on preparations so far for the competition, expectation of athletes and other key issues on the competition.
It said, Dasebre Akuamoah Agyapong, would be supported by other wing chiefs of the KTC.
It added that, the decision to perform another launch in Kwahu, was part of the activities to create more awareness about the event and attract more participants and sponsors.
“Again as the main venue of the event, it is significant to give Kwahu a sense of ownership,” it added.
Also in attendance would be Mathew Vikuba Nantiere, winner of the 2018 Kwahu Easter Mountain Marathon.
The 23 year old Fire Officer, is expected to defend his crown this year, as the competition seem to have grown bigger with interests from athletes in Kenya and Ethiopia.
