Paul Dogboe (Snr), dad and coach of the boxer received the car on behalf of Dogboe (Jnr), who not present, as  he was in school in the United Kingdom.

Dogboe Snr, expressed gratitude to the two companies for the gift.

Dogboe who won the title from Mexican Jessie Magdaleno, defeated his Japanese opponent Hidenori Otake in his first WBO Super Bantamweight title defence, dramatically finishing off the veteran after just a minute and 30 seconds into the first round.
