Ghana's 4*100 metres quartet withdrew from the preliminary race at the ongoing Commonwealth Games being staged at Carrara Stadium in Gold Coast, Australia due to injury problems.
Information gathered by GNA Sports desk indicates that, the medical team of Team Ghana, deem it fit to withdraw two from the race because they were not fit for the race.
The two injured top sprinters namely Sean Sarfo-Antwi and Martine Owusu Amoah sustained various injuries during the individual races.
Sarfo-Antwi yesterday got injured during his heat in the men 100 meters, while Owusu Amoah also pulled Owusu Amoah hamstring during his 200m
semi finals race.
Despite injuries sustained the team turn up at Carrara Stadium but could notcompete due to injuries.
Team Ghana is yet to win a medal at this games, as they outing has been marred by visa fraud scandal as the President of Ghana has recalled the top delegation to aid investigations.
