Pedu Stars defeated Youngsters FC 1-0 to emerge overall winners of the 2018 Betway Easter Games played at the Play Soccer Park in Cape Coast.
The second edition of the leading online sports betting company’s annual competition, was part of the outfit’s continuous effort to develop sports in Ghana.
The seven-a-side gala, which saw eight teams each from Takoradi, Sunyani, Kumasi and Cape Coast witnessed a tough encounter between the two sides but
at the end, it was Pedu Stars who proved superior to humble Youngsters FC with a lone goal.
The gala, which was played simultaneously in four cities across the country had teams invited from the various communities in the cities to participate.
In other matches, Sulele Club, based in Takoradi beat defending champions Kingsmen FC 1-0 in Takoradi, Ultimators XI beat Getfund FC to win the 3rd place whilst the David Accam Community Park in Kumasi also saw Unity FC from KNUST beat Santasi FC to come out as winners after a fierce competition. Ravena FC came 3rd after beating Asokwa FC in the other final game.
Newtown FC, Zongo FC and Odumase FC came out first, second and third respectively at the Penkwase Park in Sunyani. A sum of GHC 24,000.00 cash prize and souvenirs were awarded to the top three teams per location in the football competition.
Other prizes were given out to the top goal scorers, winners of the table tennis competition and FIFA 18 competitions. Top goal scorers in all four (4) cities walked away with 43-inch Television Sets. Many fans and enthusiasts of the various teams showed up to show support to their teams and cheer them up.
