The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) adjudged the Black Cranes as the team of the year at its annual awards ceremony held on Saturday. Over the years, Indomie has remained the major sponsor of the Black Cranes.

The Black Cranes received the prestigious award in recognition for their sterling performances in various international competitions. Last year, the team picked up four awards at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth and Commonwealth Junior and Seniors Weightlifting competitions held in Penang, Malaysia.

In an interview with the GNA Sports, Mahesh Shah, General Manager, DUFIL, congratulated the Black Cranes for the award and urged them to continue working hard to win more laurels for the nation.

He said Indomie would continue supporting sports, particularly the youth development programmes, to help ensure that champions are nurtured. Indomie has sponsored several national weightlifting competitions and also helped the National Weightlifting Federation to build a gym.
