Mr. Abdul Salam Yakubu, a Management Committee member of the National Under-17 team, Black Starlets, has said they waiting for the technical report on the just ended African Youth Championship (AYC), played in Gabon from the technical team.
The Starlets placed second in the competition and have thus qualified for the World Cup in October in India, later this year. He said this will enable them to begin preparation for the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) World Cup in India later in the year.
"We have about three weeks to a month to begin another pre-season and it would do us good, if we receive the report as soon as possible to start putting curative measures in place for the task ahead.
"I believe if that is done properly and with all seriousness, we can win the World Cup, because all the ‘boys’ need now is adequate grooming and support to excel," he added.
Mr. Abdul Salam however commended the team for placing second in the tournament and urged Ghanaians to watch out for better performance in the World Cup slated for later this year.
