The Treasurer of the Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), Mr. Evans Yeboah, has launched his manifesto, ahead of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) Elections on Wednesday, March 15.
Mr. Yeboah is seeking to occupy the position of 3rd Vice President of the GOC.
Mr. Yeboah’s nomination has been approved by the GOC’s electoral officers and is therefore qualified to compete in the elections scheduled for March 15, 2017.
He said, he was committed to the global growth, financial management as well as the development of all the associated sports federations.
"I am committed to the growth of GOC and the commercial success of every associated sport and I will ensure that the GOC operates with the highest standards of financial governance, as well as the development of the various associations and the successful participation of Ghana at the Olympics.
"My mission is to promote the GOC’s agenda far and wide, including the Olympic movement.
My background in strategic telecommunication, media and technology management and a decent exposure in financial management has prepared me for this position"I have served Ghana’s sports for ten years in various capacities and roles, and would ensure that the GOC’s reputation is protected and enhanced.
"If I am elected as the 3rd Vice President, I would help to develop Ghana Sport and collaborate with the National Federations and athletes. He said, he would promote good governance, ethical and welfare standards, whilst grooming the next generation of Ghana’s Olympic athletes for 2020 and beyond. Mr Yeboah, said he was optimistic of the backing of about 48 delegates in the upcoming GOC congress.
"I am honoured to have the backing of my association and the other 48 delegates. I have lived a life immersed in Olympic sport at both the national and international levels, delivering financial continuity and technological innovation.
I will endeavor to work with all sports stakeholders to advance the governance of the Olympic movement we all love”. Mr. Yeboah.
