An 18-year-old unemployed was on Tuesday remanded into prison custody by the Tema Circuit Court 'A,' for allegedly trading in narcotic drugs.
Lawrence Attram, pleaded not guilty to the charge of prohibited business related to narcotics, and was remanded to re-appear on December 8.
The court presided over by Mrs Laurinda Owusu was told by the prosecution that, the complainant in the case is Chief Inspector Walter Emmanuel Ntimi, a Police Detective stationed at the Ashaiman Police Station.
The prosecutor, Chief Inspector Abraham Marteyfio said on November 21, this year, at about 2300 hours, a police patrol team embarked on a search for a suspected robber at Old Tulaku, a suburb of Ashaiman.
Chief Inspector Marteyfio said the team chanced on a group of drug peddlers, which included Attram.
He said the group fled upon seeing the Police, but Attram was arrested and a blue waist bag containing 11 pieces of aluminum pipes used for sniffing narcotics, a syringe, as well as other drug abusing, and peddling implements were found on him.
Attram denied engaging in narcotic business in his caution statement, the prosecution added.
