The Former Minority Leader of Parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, has called on the youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to promote the good works of former President John Dramani Mahama, who is also the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
He emphasised that the interest of the former president was above all party supporters, and that the NDC’s main focus now was to unite as one family.
Mr Iddrisu who is also the Member of Parliament for Tamale South was speaking here in Tamale at an orientation and training workshop for the Youth Wing of the NDC on Sunday advised the Youth Organisers to use polite words to promote Mr. Mahama’s ideas and vision for the country.
This, he said, was the only way the party could win the hearts of Ghanaians to vote for Mr Mahama come 2024 general elections.
“The party is putting more structures in place to equip the youth organisers to work hard,” he said.
Mr Iddrisu stressed the importance of unity within the NDC, stating that the party’s primary focus should be to unite as one family.
He emphasised that the party’s interests should take precedence over individual interests, both within the region and across the country.
“We are here today to promote John Dramani Mahama. We must prioritise his image and accomplishments in every platform we engage in,” Mr Iddrisu stated.
Furthermore, Mr Iddrisu encouraged every party member to actively reach out to others and ensure the success of the 2024 campaign and election for John Dramani Mahama.
The Member of Parliament for Tamale South also highlighted the importance of unity among the Youth Organisers nationwide.
He emphasised that they should come together as a cohesive unit and effectively promote the party’s ideologies to secure the support and votes of Ghanaians in the 2024 general elections.
“Youth organisers, your mandate is to promote John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer, and lead this country towards a better Ghana. Let’s work hard and ensure his success,” Mr Iddrisu concluded.
