Mr Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has presented items to some organisations in Tema to assist them to develop their areas.
The items included streetlights, cement, benches, sewing machines and hairdryers.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo, who is also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Tema West, said the donation was his widow's mite as far the development of the constituency is concerned.
The beneficiaries are the Community 17 Landlords and Landladies Association, the Spintex branch of Sand and Stone Contractors Association, the Spintex branch of the Sheepfold Chapel, the Global Evangelical Church at Lashibi and the residents of Community 5.
Mr Francis Gbesiagbe, Chairman of the Community 17 Landlords and Landladies Association, received 20 streetlights on behalf of members, while Rev Fred Mawuli Akator, Parish Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church, took two hairdryers and two sewing machines on behalf of the church, with Mr Francis Ato Plange, Unit Committee Chairman of Community 5, receiving 10 streetlights on behalf of the residents.
They thanked the Minister and expressed the hope that individuals and organisations would also make similar donations.
