The management of Fenn School, a private educational institution in Concord, Massachusetts, USA on Tuesday presented a cheque for 4,000 dollars and educational materials to the authorities of Wa Methodist School for the Blind.
The materials include books, T-shirt, computers and CD players.
Presenting the items in Accra, Mr. Tete Cobblah, Head of Visual Arts Department of Fenn School, said the money was to assist the school to acquire Braille materials for studies.
He appealed to authorities of the school to inculcate into their training courage, honesty; empathy, love and respect for the needy in society and all aspects of the culture and community service.
Mr. Peter Korley, Manager of Ghana Material Resource Centre for the Disabled, commended the school for its commitment to assist the blind and appealed for further collaboration between students of the two schools.
He said the centre had begun the production of supplementary readers in Braille.
Ms Cecilia Batholomew, a teacher of the school who received the items expressed appreciation for the assistance.
