Aidnaction International, a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in United States has presented
Butterfly Sewing Machine each to each of the seven graduands of Christian Vocational Centre at a ceremony at Breman Asikuma.
Mr. Gary Heath, president of the NGO, who made the presentation at
Breman Asikuma, urged the grandaunts to concentrate on their work and
expand it in future for the benefit of the community.
Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Domson, District Executive for the area, in an
address read for him, commended the NGO and the authorities of the Institute
for their gesture.
He said education is key to development and therefore appealed to the people in the area to educate their children with the limited resources at
their disposal for them to become useful future citizens.
Mr. Adjei Domson advised the granduands against putting what they have learnt aside and jump into another trade.
He said the government acknowledged the importance of the private
sector development hence the establishment of the Centre for Rural Enterprise Development to assist the people.
Madam Comfort Mends, Managing Director of the Institute expressed gratitude to the NGO for the assistance and expressed the hope that more assistance aids would be given to the school to enable it to train the
youth engage in viable ventures.
Madam Mends said the graduands successfully under took 24 months training in sewing as well as Tie and Dye.
