This follows the launch on Tues­day at the Accra Technical University, “SheUnimpeded” initiative, by Empow­ering Upcoming Women (EmpUW), a non-governmental organisation.

It seeks to empower younger women with skills, wisdom and support them to harness their full potential.

Acknowledging the challenges women face due to limiting societal norms, the “SheUnimpeded” initiative connects aspiring young women in tertiary edu­cation with experienced career profes­sionals.

The EmpUW’s Founding Director, Ms Dorcas Dare, said the NGO was committed to nurturing and empowering young women in their pursuit of per­sonal and professional growth through coaching and sensitisation.

She said “EmpUW connects aspiring individuals with accomplished women, providing a platform for unimpeded success and boundless growth. EmpUW is dedicated to breaking down barriers and empowering women to achieve their goals and aspirations.

“This initiative represents a significant step towards creating a world where women can achieve their goals and am­bitions without restraint. I firmly believe that the journey to success should be unimpeded for all.”

Ms Dare said SheUnimpeded is a testament to the fact that “when women support women, we can break barriers, shatter glass ceilings and accomplish anything we set our minds to. The com­mitment and dedication of role models and volunteer coaches who believe in the potential of these young women have made this initiative possible.”

The Dean of Students’ Affairs of ATU, Mr Martin Amoamah, said living in an era where gender equality was not just a lofty ideal, but a necessity for the advancement of society, the empow­erment of upcoming women was not merely a matter of social justice, but an economic imperative that had become a critical priority.
