He said the existence of Agrihouse Foundation over the years contributed immensely to the Ghanaian system of agriculture by eliminating cultural barriers such as gender biases, insecurity and seasonal farming.

This according to him set the agenda to reap the full potential of Agriculture by transforming and giving meaning of practical expression to agriculture to the Ghanaian farmer.

The Deputy Minister made the statement at this year’s 12th Pre-Harvest Conference and Exhibition of the Agrihouse Foundation in Tamale last Tuesday.

It was held on the theme: “Connecting the Unconnected: the Farmer-the Buyer and the Market.”

Mr Addo said Agrihouse had achieved it objectives and was consolidating those achievements of creating more growth and pathways through their innovative programmes.

“The vision of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo articulated and documented explicitly indicate the premium placed on agriculture by the government,”he said

He added that, the crust of the President vision was to ensure a paradigm shift of agriculture from a way of life to a serious business and central activity to a Ghanaian farmer.

He explained that, agriculture in any form should no longer be constrained or limited by socio economic, cultural, and other factors.

The Deputy Minister also said the Pre-harvest Agribusiness Conference offers a platform for interaction to pertinent issues affecting the agricultural sector and Ghanaian farmers.

He explained that, the event serves thepurpose of knowledge, information sharing, learning vital lessons from the experiences of others, striking business deals and acquaintances geared toward the development of agriculture in Ghana.

The Northern Regional Minister, Alhajim Shani Alhassan Shaibu applauded Agrihouse Foundation for 12 years of organising such a lovely event for farmers in the country.

He commended them for holding down the fort, and sustaining an impactful event that annually gathers farmer groups, processors and agri-businesses.

The Minister said this had been a good initiative for providing space that allows them to connect, network, trade mount exhibitors, share information, ideas and build capacity as agricultural stakeholders in Northern Region and Ghana as a whole.

The Chief Executive officer of the Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana AkyeaAkosua said the pre-harvest, over the years had become a leading market linkage event of the agricultural calendar in this country

She said this, annually create opportunity for direct members and partners of the agricultural communities to come together through exhibitions, field and practical training and demonstrations, to buy and sell as well as networking among themselves.

The CEO mentioned that this year’s conference recorded one hundred and eighteen exhibitors.
