Kwasi Adu Asabir, 59, a farmer and Unit Committee member at Akutuase near Agogo in the Ashanti Akim North District was last Wednesday trapped to death by a wall at the Krontihene's Palace.
Kwaku Amakye, 19, who was also trapped was receiving treatment at the St. Joseph's Hospital at Koforidua.
According to the Krontihene, Nana Kofi Gyimah I, he invited Asabir, who was his younger brother and some elders to the palace to decide on the fate of people who refused to attend communal labour.
Nana Gyimah, said during the meeting, they realised that it was threatening to rain, he therefore called off the meeting to enable the people to get to their homes before the rain started.
He said a strong wind pulled down part of the building, which was constructed with mud as the people made the attempt to go, trapping the two.
They were rushed to the Agogo Hospital but Asabir died on arrival, while Amakye who went to the palace to observe the proceedings was referred to the St. Joseph's Hospital at Koforidua where he is responding to treatment.
