The Member of Parliament (MP)for Abuakwa North, Ms GiftyTwum-Ampofo, has advised queen mothers in her Constituency to lead the crusade against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
"You are the heads and mothers of your various communities, be the ambassadors for the fight against COVID-19 to help curb the spread of the virus in our constituency," she said.
The MP made this statement when she met with queenmothers in her Constituency to deliberate and engage them as part of activities to mark the Mother's Day celebration in her Constituency.
She encouraged them to ensure that their community members adhered to government directives and practiced social distancing, frequently wash their hands and use of nose and mouth masks.
The Queenmother of Akyem Tafo, Nana Aframoah Afri I, thanked the MP for her submission and assured that they the queenmothers would take up the fight against the pandemic.
She appealed for logistic support from government and other stakeholders to facilitate their activities against the spread of the pandemic in the communities.
Ms Twum-Ampofo presented to the queenmothers hampers and face masks to be shared to people in their communities to help in the fight against the pandemic.
