The Ghana News Agency (GNA) observed during a tour of some areas in the Tamale Metropolis on Christmas Day Celebration that most people went about their daily activities just as they do on ordinary days.

The GNA further observed that food vendors and hawkers were doing their normal businesses as the usual mass cooking and other activities on Christmas Days were missing.

Mr Abdul Fatawu, a resident of Tamale told the GNA that "the day is just as normal as any other day, besides I am a Muslim so it is not so special for me".

"I am only thankful to Allah that I have been able to witness this day and that is all", he said.

Madam Asnat Yirenkyiwa, another resident, told the GNA that Christmas gave Christians the opportunity to reflect on the birth of Jesus Christ and to live according to His teachings and doctrines.

She said "the most important thing is that I am alive in good health and I thank God for this day. We have been eating, drinking and wearing new clothes everyday so today is just like those days".

She further said "as Christ has been reborn, let us use this day to live in love, peace and unity as we enter into a new year. A year which is an election year and peace has to prevail among all of us in Christ".
